Using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to keep the next generation in Vermont...

 

 

Green Mountain College

 

(NGS started in 2006)

is changing its focus this year.  Its Next Generation, Green Mountain Scholarships program has been modified to be in compliance with its latest admissions policy, which offers a Vermont Tuition Match for any Vermont Student who qualifies for admission.  Students who have competed at the VSSMF and especially winners will be given priority application reads for consideration for admission. 

 

$19,500 per year ($78,000 over four years)

provided that the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative high school and college gpa.

 

 

Norwich University

 

(NGS started in 2006 - Confirmed for 2015)

is awarding the following Next Generation, Norwich University Math Science Scholarships:

 

$5,000 per year ($20,000 over four years)

provided that the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative gpa while at high school and Norwich.  These scholarships are awarded to:

 

the five juniors with the highest judging score in the 2015 Vermont State Science & Math Fair.

each Junior who is a 2015 winner of the High School National Awards or the United States Government Awards.

each 2015 Vermont State Science & Math Fair ISEF Finalist.

Only one Next Generation Scholarship will be awarded per student.     This scholarship is not transferable and only may be used at Norwich University.

 

 

Saint Michael’s College

 

(NGS started in 2008 - Confirmed for 2015)

will offer Certificates of Recognition for an undetermined number of recipients in categories selected by members of the Saint Michael's community during the Vermont State Science and Mathematics Fair.  The certificate will entitle the recipient to be eligible for one of the following levels of Next Generation Scholarships; the level to be awarded will be based on the recipient's success in high school.

 

 $15,000 per year ($60,000 over four years)
     provided that the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative high school and college gpa.
 $10,000 per year ($40,000 over four years)

provided that the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative high school and college gpa.
$5,000 per year ($20,000 over four years)

 provided that the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative high school and college gpa.

 

To be considered for the scholarship, the recipient must apply and be accepted for admission to Saint Michael’s College for Academic Years 2014 and beyond.

This scholarship is not transferable and only may be used at Saint Michael’s College.

 

 

Vermont Technical College

 

(NGS started in 2010 - Confirmed for 2016)

will offer a Certificate of Recognition for the best project in any VTC major by a student in the 10th grade or higher, selected by members of the Vermont Technical College community during the Vermont State Science and Mathematics Fair.  The certificate will entitle the recipient to be eligible for the following Next Generation, Green Mountain Scholarship:

 

up to $2,500 ($10,000 over four years)

 

Scholarship amount dependent upon high school record.  Renewable provided that the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative college gpa.

To be considered for the scholarship, the recipient must apply and be accepted for admission to Vermont Technical College for Academic Years 2016 and beyond.

This scholarship is not transferable and only may be used at Vermont Technical College.

 

 

Castleton State College

 Using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to keep the next generation in Vermont...

 

(NGS started in 2015)

will offer a Certificate of Recognition for the best 11th grade project in any category corresponding to a major in Castleton State College's Natural Sciences Department, selected by members of the Castleton State College community during the Vermont State Science and Mathematics Fair.  The certificate will entitle the recipient to be eligible for the following Next Generation Scholarship.

 

            $2,500 ($10,000 over four years)

 

  provided that the student maintains a 2.8 cumulative high school gpa and enrolls and remains in one of the majors in Castleton College's Natural Sciences Department and maintains a 3.0 cumulative college gpa.  Student may requalify after dropping below a 3.0 GPA for one year, after two consecutive semesters with a GPA above 3.0.

 

To be considered for the scholarship, the recipient must apply and be accepted for admission as a full-time student to Castleton College for Academic Year 2015 or up to two years beyond 2015.

This scholarship is not transferable and only may be used at Castleton State College.

 

This merit-based scholarship can be combined with other merit-based scholarships and need-

 based awards received by the student
