     Basandhara Mukerjee, South Burlington High School.

Christopher could not make the trip so Basandhara and Abigail will be competing at I-SWEEEP and Christopher will receive the $100 award.

 

 

2012 I-SWEEEP Award Winners

We submitted five nominees based upon their abstracts.  Two were selected by the I-SWEEEP judges to attend I-SWEEEP in Houston, Texas, on April 15th-20th.  

Nominees: KELLIE FRENCH from WINDSOR HIGH SCHOOL, and MICHAEL DICKHAUT and LENA COHEN, both from SOUTH BURLINGTON HS.  

Finalists: BASUNDHARA  MUKERJEE and RAIHAN  KABIR both from SOUTH BURLINGTON HS.

BOTH Basundhara and Raihan won Bronze Medals at I-SWEEEP!

2011 I-SWEEEP Selection Process

2011 is the fourth year of I-SWEEEP at the VSSMF.  The Board of Directors of the VSSMF nominated five representatives from the senior section (high school) on the basis of abstracts; which were due a week earlier than for the VSSMF.  From these nominees, I-SWEEEP selected two representatives who will compete in I-SWEEEP 2011 in Houston, Texas, on May 4th-9th.

2011 I-SWEEEP Award Winners

The VSSMF selected five nominees to compete for two positions at I-SWEEEP

The five nominees are:

From Rutland High School, Ben Peacock and Marie Schwalbe

From South Burlington High School, Nikko Pasanen and Riya Patel

From Woodstock Union High School, Sophia Leiter

From this pool of candidates, I-SWEEEP selected Sophia Leiter and Riya Patel.  The other nominees were given Runner-Up Awards.   Riya won a Bronze Medal!  

2010

 

2010 is the third year of I-SWEEEP at the VSSMF.  The Board of Directors of the VSSMF nominated representatives from the junior section (middle school) and senior section (high school) on the basis of abstracts; which were due a week earlier than for the VSSMF.  From these nominees, I-SWEEP selected two representatives who competed in I-SWEEEP 2010 in Houston, Texas, on April 17th.

 

VSSMF provided a stipend of $300 to each representative and his/her teacher for both of Vermont's I-SWEEEP representatives, to defray travel costs to Houston.  I-SWEEEP provided all meals, lodging, and domestic transportation within Houston.

2009 2009 is the second year of I-SWEEEP.  The Board of Directors of the VSSMF nominated two winners from the junior section (middle school) and four from the senior section (high school) on the basis of abstracts alone.  From these nominees, I-SWEEP selected two winners who competed in I-SWEEEP 2009 in Houston, Texas.

 

09 Winner 1: James Hughes, Rutland High School, Title: Steel Corrosion, the Hidden Danger plus $5,000 per year Next Generation Scholarship to Norwich University**

Stephanie Chang, South Burlington High School, Title: Reducing Phosphorus in Dairy Effluent via Constructed Wetland-Steel Slag Filter System plus $5,000 per year Next Generation Scholarship to Norwich University**

 

 

2008

 

Each Scholarship winner and his/her adult sponsor is invited to attend the International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, & Environment) Project Olympiad in Houston, Texas on May 2-4, 2008.  I-SWEEEP will provide all meals, lodging, and domestic transportation within Houston including transportation from and to the airport  for these projects during the I-SWEEEP Fair.
