2015 SSP Broadcom MASTERS

 

SSP is honored to partner with Broadcom to sponsor the Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars); a competition for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who participate in the 2015 Vermont State Science & Math Fair, and are nominated to compete in the national competition. 

 

Up to ten Middle school students will be nominated at the 2015 Vermont State Science & Math Fair by the VSSMF ISEF Commitee to compete in the Broadcom MASTERS .  Nominees complete an online application where they will be asked to explain their project and have an opportunity to demonstrate their use of STEM principles - science, technology, engineering and math - in the development and presentation of their project.  If nominees complete their on-line application, and notify VSSMF that they have done so, they will receive an award of $50.

 

From all national entrants, 300 Semifinalists will be selected by SSP, including 30 Finalists who win an all-expense paid trip to Silicon Valley, CA, where they will compete for awards and prizes, including the top education award of $25,000 presented by the Samueli Foundation, a gift of Susan and Henry Samueli, a founder of Broadcom Corporation.

 

Key 2014 Broadcom MASTERS dates

  • February 1 to June 17  – On-line application open for nominees
  • June 17 – Deadline for entries to be completed
  • Summer 2015  Semi-finalists and Finalists will be announced.  Finalists will be selected, announced, and awarded an all expense paid trip for both the student and one parent to Silicon Valley, CA, to attend the Finals
  • October 1 to 5 Finalist Week in Silicon Valley.
