Requirements to be Eligible to Compete for ISEF Awards

 

2014: Trip to Los Angeles, California to compete at ISEF May 11-16

The three top high school (grades 9-12) projects which have completed all the ISEF forms and obtained approval of the VSSMF SRC, and those students' teachers, will win an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles from May 11-16, 2014 to participate in the 61st ISEF paid by the VSSMF.  There they will compete for millions of dollars in prizes with about 1500 other finalists from around the world.

 

2014 Finalists:

     Abigail Millard              

          School:     Windsor HS       

          Title:   Lactobacillus vs. Amoxicillin: Beneficial Bacteria as Treatment for Sinus Infections 

 

     Gailin Pease

          School:     Burlington HS       

          Title:   Memory in Evolutionary Robotics 

 

      Nevil Desai

          School:     South Burlington HS

          Title:     Bioremediation: Using Strains of Pseudomonas on Oil Spills

 

And each of these students will be offered:

 a $15,000 per year conditional* Next Generation Scholarship to attend Green Mountain College and

 a $5,000 per year conditional** Next Generation Scholarship to attend Norwich University.

*student must maintain a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average in High School and while at Green Mountain College.  

**student must maintain a 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average in High School and while at Norwich University.

 

 

2013: Trip to Phoenix, Arizona, to compete at ISEF May 12-17

The three top high school (grades 9-12) projects which have completed all the ISEF forms and obtained approval of the VSSMF SRC, and those students' teachers, will win an all-expense paid trip to Phoenix from May 12-17, 2013 to participate in the 61st ISEF paid by the VSSMF.  There they will compete for millions of dollars in prizes with about 1500 other finalists from around the world.
