Q: Thank you for the Science and Math Fair URL. I printed out the requirements for the Final Abstract and showed them to my student. He does not see how he can produce a 200-300 word abstract without using any mathematical symbols. He says he would need at least parentheses and addition signs. I suspect he would find a need for other symbols as well since his research and findings are in theoretical math. Ideally, he would want to write his abstract in LaTeX. He would really appreciate any advice.
A: Here's the skinny, our web form mangles even basic symbols.
We can copy and paste your abstract into the document, post process. Please fill out the final abstract web form when it becomes available. In the field for the abstract text type a reminder to us that your abstract will be inserted later. email us a copy of your abstract in a format we can copy and paste into a Word document.
